Right now I'm in London for a month with my family working out of our UK office.
Yesterday was a long day.
I was cooped up inside for nine hours straight getting stuff done.
It wasn't until I stepped outside to grab a bite to eat late at night that I looked around and remembered: “Wow! I'm in London.”
In California, not many buildings are older than 100 years; London is an architectural feast for the eyes … the people, sights, sounds and the rich urban fabric.
I stood for a moment taking it in, appreciating the flexible work schedule that lets me bring my family to London for a month.
Which got me thinking … how easy it is to be so focused on the task at hand that we lose sight of the bigger picture of what's going on around us.
Which leads me today's parable – the #1 secret to ‘marketing' an architecture firm.
